Solidor Composite Doors Care and Maintenance
Solidor composite doors are made from a high-quality composite material that is designed to be durable and low-maintenance. However, there are a few things you can do to help keep your door looking its best for years to come.
Cleaning
The door frame and door panelling can be cleaned using a soft sponge and warm soapy water, washing up liquid or hand soap. Dry the surface with a soft lint free cloth.
The external glass can be cleaned with traditional glass cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals and solvents.
Lubricating
Once a year, it is recommended to lubricate all of the moving parts on your Solidor composite door. This will help to keep the door operating smoothly and prevent it from becoming stiff or sticking.
To lubricate the door, open it and place a dust sheet or similar underneath the door. Apply a small amount of 3-in-1 oil or silicone spray to the following areas:
The lever handle
The cylinder
The multipoint locking mechanism
The hinges
The hooks and deadbolt
Lift the handles up and down 6 times to ensure that the lubricant works its way through all parts of the mechanism.
The door hardware should be polished every 6 months to keep it looking its best. To polish the hardware, use a soft cloth and a mild polish. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents, as these can damage the finish of the hardware.
Ultion Cylinders
To ensure proper functioning of your Ultion cylinder, please adhere to the following instructions and repeat them every 6 months:
Lubricate the cylinder using Graphite powder.
Do not use oils or WD40 on the cylinder as it could invalidate your guarantee and potentially cause the cylinder to seize.
Storing
If you are storing your Solidor composite door for an extended period of time, it is important to take some precautions to protect it from the elements. First, clean the door thoroughly and dry it completely. Then, wrap the door in a tarp or other protective covering. Finally, store the door in a cool, dry place.
